Recently, the "Research on the Integration Development Strategy of Artificial Intelligence and Real Economy in Inner Mongolia" project led by our school has been approved by the Inner Mongolia Research Institute of China's Engineering Science and Technology Development Strategy. The project leader is Prof. Nima Zhaxi, academician of the CAE. The project is jointly implemented by Inner Mongolia University, National University of Defense Technology, Xizang University and Beijing University of Technology, and the implementation cycle is one year (September 2024 to September 2025). Our school has undertaken two projects, with Prof. Gao Guanglai from the School of Computer Science as the leader of the project "Countermeasures and Suggestions for the Integration Development Path of Artificial Intelligence and Real Economy in Inner Mongolia", and Prof. Fei Long as the leader of the project "Exploring and Analysis of Application Scenarios of Artificial Intelligence Technology in Inner Mongolia".

This project aims to serve the strategic positioning of Inner Mongolia's "Five Major Tasks" and deepen the top-level design of the "Artificial Intelligence+" industry in areas such as energy, modern agriculture and animal husbandry, equipment manufacturing, ecological environment, education, healthcare, and cultural tourism. It aims to solve problems such as incomplete top-level design of artificial intelligence technology, insufficient exploration of application scenarios, and insufficient integration with the real economy. Through artificial intelligence, it empowers local advantageous and characteristic industries, forms new quality productivity, and provides important support for high-quality development. To achieve differentiated competition with developed regions in the "technology industrialization", promote the "industrial technology" of the local area, formulate a standardized development framework for artificial intelligence, promote the depth and breadth of its application in various industries, and propose a development path and countermeasures for the deep integration of artificial intelligence with the real economy in research and development tasks, industrial policies, and strategic planning.

The implementation of this project is of great significance for the industrial transformation of Inner Mongolia, the integrated development of artificial intelligence and the real economy in Inner Mongolia, and the relevant decision-making of Inner Mongolia's industries, research and development, policies, and planning.
